A year in review

Dear clients, colleagues and friends,

2009 has been a difficult year for many but with it came opportunities to have a thorough look at life and to realise that there is always a choice and that it is up to us to create our own reality.  I am very grateful for an exciting year with many memorable encounters.

The conferences in Houston in March (Families in Global Transition) and Prague in October (W.I.N. Global Leadership Conference) have been wonderful opportunities for my colleague Jeanne Heinzer and myself to present our work and to connect with people from all around the world. I have been privileged to work with corporate clients who have given me their trust and who have impressed me with their unique personalities, their willingness to learn and to grow.  I found my teaching engagement at the Management Center to be very rewarding and marvelled at the potential and development that I saw in my students.

The nine months at the International Coach Academy have been a great inspiration and I am grateful for all those profound insights, thoughtprovoking ideas and sheer endless motivation and encouragement. I have met great coaches (and human beings) from all around the world and each one of them has added meaning to my life. I am proud to be part of the Mastermind Group for Cross-Cultural Coaches that evolved out of the FIGT conference in Houston and would like to thank Andrew, Dee, Sarah, Oshikan and Jeanne for their inspiration, honesty and friendship.

As we celebrate Christmas, I would like to draw your attention to my fellow ICA coach Brian McCarthy's Kaojai Fondation. Based on the concept of "paying it forward", Brian and his team do wonderful work in Thailand to support local communities. Among other projects such as hospital and medical care, support for children to stay in school or assistance to some Buddhist temples, the Kaojai Foundation has taken on the difficult and very humbling task of burying the bodies of mostly children who have been left behind at hospitals as their families cannot afford even the simplest burials.  Brian is personally taking care of all the acitivites which ensures that all donations immediately benefit the people on the ground. For more information, go to www.kaojaicoaching.com or contact Brian at b.mccarthy@kaojai.net.

I would like to wish all of you Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2010.
