Research on early returnees - request for participation

As cross-cultural trainer and coach, I know about the challenges of living abroad and the factors that make or break an assignment. However, solid research is still limited. If assignments end prematurely, the reasons for these early returns are usually not captured. I am therefore glad to support Dr. Nina Cole, an Associate Professor from Ryerson University, Toronto, in her study on expat early returns. I met Nina at the Families in Global Transition Conference in Houston last year and was very impressed with her research approach.

If you and your family ever returned home early from an international assignments, please participate in Nina's research project. Visit her website www.ninacole.net before June 30, 2010 and click on "Expat Questionnaire". The questionnaire is anonymous and confidential and your experience will increase our knowledge on the "hard facts" of early returns.

For all of us working in the field, this data is very important to highlight the human and financial costs of not addressing assignment challenges.

Many thanks
